Field Maple (Acer)
£149.00 - £642.00*
This compact tree was widely used in the Middle Ages for making musical instruments. It does best on well drained soils and develops a deeply rough bark even at a young age. Small green leaves emerge in spring and the dense twiggy canopy is ideal for roosting small birds such as sparrows and finches. A great tree for both urban and rural planting, garden or hedgerow. One of our favourites!
Species available: Acer campestre, Acer campestre Arends, Acer campestre Elegant, Acer campestre Elsrijk, Acer campestre Louisa Red Shine, Acer campestre Queen Elizabeth.
