Yew (Taxus)
£167.00*
A medium tree of conical appearance, its hard wood can support this evergreen to a great age. Often used for hedging, it also makes a fine specimen tree. It can grow on highly calcareous or highly acidic soils so long as there is good drainage. Yew hedges are best kept to between 1.5 -2 metres tall and clipped regularly, once in the spring and a lighter trim in mid summer. A classic choice for country gardens.
Species available: Taxus baccata.
