Alder multistem (Alnus)
*
Once used for the production of clogs in Northern England, this species produces yellow catkins in March and its natural habitat is boggy land and river banks. It is especially useful when planted in an area prone to periodic flooding. It will also thrive in all but the driest locations and it is a vigorous tree when young and can attain a large size so we do not recommend it for smaller gardens. These bushy multistemmed versions are great for exposed and windy sites where ordinary standard trees may be damaged.
Species available: Only Alnus glutinosa available as a multistem.
Please note size changes: Large, 150L 4-5m
