Field Maple multistem (Acer)
£210.00*
This compact tree was widely used in the Middle Ages for making musical instruments. It does best on well drained soils and develops a deeply rough bark even at a young age. Small green leaves emerge in spring and the dense twiggy canopy is ideal for roosting small birds such as sparrows and finches. A great tree for both urban and rural planting, garden or hedgerow. One of our favourites! The low branching nature of the multistems make this a great choice for exposed sites, reducing damage caused by the impacts of constant high winds.
