Once used for the production of clogs in Northern England, this conical tree produces yellow catkins in March and its natural habitat is boggy land and river banks. However it will also thrive in all but the driest locations and it is a vigorous tree when young and can attain a large size so we do not recommend it for smaller gardens. It is especially useful when planted in an area prone to periodic flooding.
Species available: Alnus cordata, Alnus glutinosa, Alnus glutinosa Laciniata, Alnus spaethii, Alnus incana.

The sizes of trees supplied is governed by the pot size they are grown in. The approximate sizes of the specimens will be determined by the species.
