Sweet Gum (Liquidambar)
£189.00*
These trees are currently not available but can be pre-ordered now for delivery in September 2009 .
Often confused with being a Maple, Sweet Gums are in fact a small genus of pyramidal trees giving magnificent autumn colour. Green leaves in summer gently give way in late September to hints of yellow and orange before turning vivid red in autumn. This sustained interest makes it a fine tree for avenue or specimen planting but it makes a large tree at maturity so must be positioned in larger gardens. A popular tree in both the States and Australia, it is less vigorous over here but fully hardy.
Species available: Liquidambar styraciflua, Liquidambar styraciflua Acalycina, Liquidambar styraciflua Lane Roberts, Liquidambar styraciflua Stella, Liquidambar styraciflua Thea, Liquidambar styraciflua Worplesdon.
If you would like to choose the species you will receive, please specify in the special delivery instructions during checkout, if not we will pick a stunning specimen for you.
