Ornamental Pear (Pyrus)
£158.00 - £651.00*
This ornamental pear was selected in the USA and named after the cockerel in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. It is a superb clone that retains an oval habit when young, broadening when matures, and that is suitable on most soils.
It holds onto its leaves as late as December when they turn to give a vivid display of orange / red colours. Abundant spring flower is produced early March so there is only three months of the year when the tree is dormant. Great for screening, avenue or specimen planting and even though it is highly ornamental it is also really tough.
Species available: Pyrus calleryana Chanticleer, Pyrus calleryana Redspire.
If you would like to choose the species you will receive, please specify in the special delivery instructions during checkout, if not we will pick a stunning specimen for you.
